AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "strange tests and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
